Douglas V. Smith, CPL

Doug serves as Vice President of the Acquisitions Division. He attended Oklahoma Christian University on a basketball scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. Doug also earned an MBA, graduating at the top of his class as a member of Delta Mu Delta national honor society. He is a Certified Professional Landman accredited through the American Association of Professional Landmen, and is also a member of the Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen and the Tulsa Association of Petroleum Landmen.

Doug has over 10 years of landwork experience and has managed prospects in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Arkansas, and Pennsylvania. His primary responsibilities include acquiring Oil and Gas Leases, negotiating well-site damages, and securing right-of-way agreements. He has worked to acquire Oil and Gas Leases on state and federal lands, including the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Land Management, and The Commissioners of the Land Office for the State of Oklahoma. Doug is responsible for all pooling and spacing matters and provides expert testimony on behalf of our clients for Oklahoma Corporation Commission hearings.
